No Pace today for Jets
Posted by on October 3, 2010 – 9:49 amThe New York Jets announced that OLB Calvin Pace did not make the trip to Buffalo this weekend and as such will not dress for today’s game against the Bills.
Head coach Rex Ryan had stated during the week that there was a chance that Pace could play a situational role this week on passing downs, but the Jets have apparently decided to err on the side of caution and have Pace 100 percent ready to go for their Monday night showdown with Brett Favre and the Vikings in Week 5.
So the Jets will be without their best run defender in Kris Jenkins, their pass cover guy in Darrelle Revis and their best pass rusher in Calvin Pace (all due respect to Jason Taylor).
Pace has yet to play in the regular season after suffering the foot injury in the preseason.

Jets practice update
Posted by on September 30, 2010 – 11:42 amHere’s a Thursday update on the practice status of the Jets’ Darrelle Revis and Calvin Pace.
According to ESPN New York’s Rich Cimini, Revis is not practicing again today. Pace meanwhile is dressed for practice. The anticipation is he’ll be limited.

Jets’ Pace a possibility
Posted by on September 29, 2010 – 10:14 amThe Jets have played their first three games without some of their most talented defenders. They lost DT Kris Jenkins to a torn ACL in the opener, lost Revis the next week and have been without top pass rusher Calvin Pace. But Rex Ryan has his fingers crossed that he’ll have Pace for passing downs at the very least on Sunday.
“I hope so,” said Ryan. “He’s probably our best pass rusher. You have Jason Taylor and him, that would be a pretty good combination on the outside for us. Quite honestly we’re struggling a little bit in our pass defense and we’re not getting the heat on the quarterback that we’d like to get. That would definitely be a shot in the arm if we could get Calvin back.”
Pace sustained a foot injury in the preseason and has not played yet in the regular season.

Calvin Pace back for Jets?
Posted by on September 27, 2010 – 4:32 pmThe Jets could very well be without Darrelle Revis this Sunday in Buffalo and they’ll still be without suspended WR Santonio Holmes, but they might be getting their top pass rusher back in the fold.
ESPN New York’s Rich Cimini is reporting that OLB Calvin Pace, who suffered a foot injury in the preseason, might be ready to return to the lineup this weekend.
RichCimini Ryan says there’s a chance LB Calvin Pace (foot) could return this wk, maybe in part-time role.
If Pace can go he’d presumably come in for passing situations to add to New York’s potent and aggressive defensive front.
