Ocho goes home to Miami

Posted by Chris Brown on June 12, 2012 – 9:30 am

Released New England wide receiver Chad Ochocinco will remain in the division after signing with another Bills AFC East rival.

Ochocinco signed a one-year deal with Miami as reported by ESPN. The 34-year old joins a receiving corps that lacks much in the way of proven weapons outside of slot receiver Davone Bess.

Though there was speculation there’s no reason to believe the Bills had any interest in the veteran wideout. Bills GM Buddy Nix has stated more than once that they want players on their roster that are still on the ascent or peaking. He does not want to add players on the decline. Ochocinco is not the same player he was three to five years ago.

…And Merriman responds

Posted by Chris Brown on May 3, 2011 – 12:46 pm

Not surprisingly, Bills LB Shawne Merriman did not appreciate Chad Ochocinco’s tweet that basically told Merriman to punch himself in the face. Here was Merriman’s response.

shawnemerriman Looks like Pepe le Pue’ @ochocinco needs a Lockout a** wooping @nflcommish can’t save you now.
Ochocinco, who claims to have Hispanic heritage in his ancestry (not sure if he’s joking), refers to himself as Pepe at times, hence Merriman’s reference. No matter what he calls himself he’s not going to want to bump into Merriman this offseason or between the lines now.

Ochocinco mocks Merriman

Posted by Chris Brown on May 3, 2011 – 11:52 am

Chad Ochocinco had an angry, instigating type response to Bills LB Shawne Merriman’s harmless tweet wishing his followers a good morning.

Merriman posted the following to his twitter account earlier today.

shawnemerriman Goodmorning…Punching the clock
To which Ochocinco responded…
ochocinco Shut up and punch yourself in the face!!!! Lights on not out!! RT @shawnemerriman: Goodmorning…Punching the clock.
Something tells me this is not going to draw the kind of response Ochocinco wants to experience in person. Merriman may respond on twitter, but the response is more likely to be witnessed on Oct. 2nd when the Bills are playing at Cincinnati, that is if Ochocinco is still with the Bengals at that time. Stay tuned.

Stevie gets props from Ocho

Posted by Chris Brown on November 22, 2010 – 10:47 am

Stevie Johnson’s shirt under his jersey, which read ‘Why So Serious?’ in reference to the Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight’ was Johnson’s attempt at playing the Joker to T.O. and Chad Ochocinco as the Batman and Robin duo. The villain obviously won with Johnson’s 3 TD performance in a dramatic Bills comeback victory. While the league is likely to have a less than approving response to Stevie’s idea, he got a positive review from Ochocinco.

In back-to-back twitter posts Monday morning, Ochocinco tweeted the following.

ochocinco Stevie Johnson is a beast, he scores and lifts his shirt n it says #WhySoSerious n reference to Batman-Robin, I love dude for that one
ochocinco Stevie Johnson was in full character, he had his face painted like the JOKER during the game, then the shirt,I literally love this dude

Apparently Stevie has seen the tweets and was flattered.

StevieJohnson13 OH SNAP! Yall See Chad Tweets Bout Lil Trill! #OhYeaPlayItKoo….. MAN TRICK THAT THAS BIG! Ocho & TO Yall Both Tall N Im Lookin At Yal Both

Ocho praising Bills CBs

Posted by Chris Brown on November 19, 2010 – 9:23 am

Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco has begun his Friday by heaping praise on Buffalo’s cornerbacks.

ochocinco What a beautiful morning, really excited about Sundays game against Buffalo, extremely talented corners in Florence and McKelvin.

Ochocinco is apparently not expecting to see much of Terrence McGee, who is expected to play a good deal more this week than he did last week. He’s also nursing a painful shoulder injury that he suffered in last week’s game against the Colts.  After practicing on a limited basis Wednesday, he did not practice at all on Thursday. His status for the game will be provided later this afternoon.

Ochocinco not practicing

Posted by Chris Brown on November 18, 2010 – 1:57 pm

Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco was limited in practice Wednesday. On Thursday he’s not practicing at all.

That according to Cincinnati Enquirer beat reporter Joe Reedy, who listed Ochocinco and DE Frostee Rucker as non-participants at Bengals practice today. Ochocinco is still dealing with pain and limited range of motion in the shoulder.

Even if Ochocinco is able to play Sunday against the Bills he’ll be doing so at considerably less than 100 percent.

Gailey not much for nicknames

Posted by Chris Brown on August 27, 2010 – 7:08 am

Bills head coach Chan Gailey was asked about Cincinnati’s wide receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, who decided to dub themselves Batman and Robin. Buffalo will be facing them and the rest of the Bengals on Saturday night.

“Obviously they’re both good players,” he said. “I didn’t know we had nicknames for them. Whatever. Good for them I guess. It doesn’t matter. They’re like everybody else, you’ve got to produce on game day.”

Buffalo’s secondary is eager to face Cincinnati’s talented receiving corps to use as a measuring stick to gauge how ready they are for the regular season.

McGee on ‘Batman and Robin’

Posted by Chris Brown on August 26, 2010 – 8:25 am

Bills CB Terrence McGee was asked what he thought of the self-given duo nickname for Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.

Owens and Ochocinco have labeled themselves ‘Batman and Robin’ after Owens signed with the Bengals in late July. The duo will be facing the Bills Saturday night. McGee however, doesn’t make much of the moniker for the entertaining wideouts.

“I don’t make anything of it,” McGee said. “Them guys they definitely are some funny characters. They keep the game exciting. I like to hear the stuff that Chad says and also T.O., but they definitely keep the game exciting. Having them both on the same team I don’t know how that locker room is before and after the games, but it’s definitely exciting.”

McGee however, doesn’t consider seeing Owens again on the field as something fun.

Whitner having fun with T.O. and Ocho

Posted by Chris Brown on August 22, 2010 – 11:00 am

After being called out by Chad Ochocinco last week on twitter, Whitner has responded with a message for Ochocinco and his partner in crime in the Cincinnati receiving corps.

Whitner tweeted the following in anticipation of the Bills’ next preseason game against the Bengals at RWS on Saturday.

DonteWhitner    Hey @terrellowens and @OGOchoCinco did u guys watch our Indy Film yet? Hope so, have a great day guys!

I wouldn’t call it trash talking. Whitner is keeping it cordial, but it’s obvious that Whitner and Buffalo’s secondary is eager to face the self-proclaimed Batman and Robin duo. Especially after what he said when asked about the upcoming game after practice this morning.

“I’m looking forward to seeing T.O. and [Chad] Ochocinco,” he said. “He sent me a couple messages on Twitter. It’s all a lot of fun, but when we go out there on the football field we expect to go out there and have a great showing against those guys. We feel like we’re one of the top secondaries in the National Football League and we have to go out and show it each and every Sunday.”

OchoCinco calls out Whitner

Posted by Chris Brown on August 12, 2010 – 9:20 pm

The Bills won’t see the Bengals until their third preseason game on Aug. 28, but Chad OchoCinco is already making things interesting calling out Donte Whitner in his latest twitter post.

OGOchoCinco    @DonteWhitner remember that year you knocked me out in Buffalo? Im not your friend still, its my turn really soon for revenge.

What exactly OchoCinco means by revenge is unclear, but the knockout shot by Whitner was impressive and by the way legal. Usually OchoCinco is just looking to score touchdowns when he makes these call outs to opponents.

The Bills will also face the Bengals in the regular season in Week 11 on Nov. 21 in Cincinnati, so if something occurs between OchoCinco and Whitner in the preseason game on the 28th, you can bet there will be carry over come Week 11.

Roscoe and Ocho

Posted by Chris Brown on June 28, 2010 – 8:20 pm

Players know players around the NFL, and those that make their offseason home in South Florida tend to travel in similar circles and work out in the same places during the offseason. Such is the case for Roscoe Parrish and a certain Bengals wideout.

Chad OchoCinco and Bills WR Roscoe Parrish apparently put in an offseason workout together late Monday near South Beach to train with OchoCinco’s coach.

OGOchoCinco Anyway twitter I’m headed to #MemorialField on south beach to train with my coach and Roscoe Parrish from the #Bills, see y’all later.

Not surprised to see them working out in the evening knowing how crazy hot it gets down in Miami this time of year.

OchoCinco on T.O.

Posted by Chris Brown on February 18, 2010 – 6:00 am

Chad OchoCinco has stated more than once that Terrell Owens will be his teammate in Cincinnati in 2010. In a recent man on the street interview OchoCinco took it a step further.

When asked by TMZ if he’s going to get Owens to Cincy this offseason, OchoCinco said he’s going to take a pay cut to make it happen.

What OchoCinco says compared to reality are often two different things, but you’ve got to admire his persistence. Unfortunately for him he has little to no input in who Bengals owner Mike Brown decides to sign and not sign.

Owens will be an unrestricted free agent effective March 5th.

OchoCinco still lobbying T.O.

Posted by Chris Brown on February 5, 2010 – 9:47 am

Earlier this week Bengals WR Chad OchoCinco stated that he was sure that free agent to be Terrell Owens would be playing for Cincinnati next season. Now he’s taken to lobbying his good friend publicly.

In one of his recent twitter posts OchoCinco tells Owens he might as well move to the other Queen City right now.

OGOchoCinco    @terrellowens bruh pack yo bags and head to Cincy damit, see you in training camp, one goal in mind #superbowl.

To this point there has not been a tweet response from Owens. Free agency is still a month away, but the Bengals will be looking to fill the void left by the late Chris Henry.

T.O. to be a Bengal?

Posted by Chris Brown on February 4, 2010 – 12:49 pm’s Jay Glazer was hosting Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco on his pre-party show and the Pro Bowl receiver believes he knows where Terrell Owens will wind up playing football in 2010.

Ochocinco told Glazer that Owens will be a Cincinnati Bengal next season and stated that he’s “sure of it.”

How he’s so sure is anyone’s guess. But Ochocinco and Owens have been pal-ing around together at Super Bowl festivities the past few days. At this point I’d call it lobbying more than anything else.

Ochocinco says Brady shoulder is fine

Posted by Chris Brown on August 29, 2009 – 2:35 pm

Chad OchoCinco is apparently an NFL insider as well. He left a message for Pats QB Tom Brady after he left last night’s game with a sore shoulder and Brady returned his call.

Here is OchoCinco’s tweet after he heard back from Brady.

OGOchoCinco Just got a call back from Tom Brady, says he’s fine and there’s nothing to worry about.

Now as much as OchoCinco believes he’s breaking news I’d like to think Tom Brady is smart enough to know to not discuss injuries in any capacity with those outside the Patriots organization. Especially one as publicly accessible as the Bengals receiver.

We may never know for sure just what the status of Brady’s shoulder is until the week leading up to the opener.

OchoCinco jealous of T.O. Show?

Posted by Chris Brown on July 21, 2009 – 2:15 pm

Chad OchoCinco had an interesting response to a tweet addressed to him from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter upon watching the debut of the T.O. Show last night jokingly said he foresees a Chad OchoCinco show coming next season on Univision (the Hispanic network). OchoCinco tweeted back the following.

My show starts September 9th against Denver, when i handle my business on the field then i’ll think about a TV show!

Hard to tell on a tweet if OchoCinco is joking himself or genuinely ticked with all the pub the T.O. Show is getting Terrell Owens. For what it’s worth OchoCinco follows Owens on Twitter and Owens follows OchoCinco.
