Eagles RB Ryan Mathews has missed the last three games with a concussion. On Thursday he was a full participant in practice, making it more and more likely that he returns to the lineup Sunday against the Bills.

Eagles RB Mathews limited

Posted by Chris Brown on December 9, 2015 – 4:30 pm

Eagles RB Ryan Mathews missed the last three games with a concussion, but he appears to be on the road back to the playing field.

Mathews participated in practice on a limited basis Wednesday. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he was encouraged by Mathews progress.

“He was out on the field with us training yesterday and we’ll evaluate him as he goes through the week,” Kelly said. “We’ve got a couple of big workdays, so we don’t have to make any determination as to where he is until after we’re done training on Saturday, but we were encouraged by what he did.”

Philadelphia also has DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner in their offensive backfield.

DE Cole, OT Peters out for Eagles

Posted by Chris Brown on October 7, 2011 – 1:19 pm

Eagles pass rusher Trent Cole and LT Jason Peters are not going to play on Sunday against the Bills.

Cole will be replaced in the lineup by Darryl Tapp, who is coming off of a pectoral strain injury, while Peters will be replaced by four-year veteran King Dunlap at left tackle.

Another reserve DE Juqua Parker is listed as questionable for Sunday as he’s missed the last two games with a high ankle sprain. He was limited in practice all week.

All the other players on the Eagles injury report are listed as probable including Michael Vick, who has a left finger injury but practiced fully all week.

Eagles pass rushers hurting

Posted by Chris Brown on October 6, 2011 – 3:53 pm

While the news that Trent Cole is expected to miss Sunday’s game with a calf injury, his backups are not looking all that good for Sunday’s game either.

Darryl Tapp and Juqua Parker, who both have missed the last two games with a pectoral strain and a high ankle sprain are having trouble getting through the practice week. Tapp was a full participant Wednesday, but was limited Thursday. Meanwhile Parker was limited both Wednesday and Thursday.

The only other healthy pass rusher on the roster besides starter Jason Babin is rookie Phillip Hunt. Philadelphia may have to resort to lining up a linebacker at defensive end on obvious passing downs if neither Tapp and Parker are available Sunday.
