Felix not looking good for Sunday

Posted by Chris Brown on November 10, 2011 – 2:39 pm

Cowboys RB Felix Jones is not practicing for a second straight day for the Cowboys as he tries to return from a high ankle sprain.

That according to DallasCowboys.com. This obviously reduces his chances of returning this week against the Bills leaving the bulk of the rushing load to rookie DeMarco Murray, who has done anything but disappoint. Murray is averaging 8.5 yards per carry.

WR Miles Austin and CB Mike Jenkins are the other notables not practicing again today.

No practice for Felix

Posted by Chris Brown on November 9, 2011 – 12:47 pm

Cowboys RB Felix Jones will reportedly not practice on Wednesday.

That according to ESPN Dallas. They’re reporting that Jones will do rehab work on the side. ESPN Dallas is also reporting that Cowboys leading tackler LB Sean Lee is going to try to practice despite a dislocated wrist. Lee is apparently going to practice with a restrictive cast on his entire hand, which would presumably make tackling and wrapping up more difficult.

Jones has missed the last three games with a high-ankle sprain and head coach Jason Garrett had expressed optimism that Jones might be ready to return to the lineup this week.

RB Jones back for Cowboys?

Posted by Chris Brown on November 8, 2011 – 10:49 am

Dallas RB Felix Jones, who has missed the last three games with a high ankle sprain might be ready to return to the Cowboys lineup on Sunday against the Bills.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Jones went through a rehab workout Monday and did some cutting off the recovering ankle for the first time. All signs were encouraging and owner Jerry Jones stated that the running back has a chance to return this week.

Even if he does it’s expected that he’ll have a reduced role in light of the injury and the emergence of his backup DeMarco Murray. Murray in Jones’ absence has run for 466 yards on 55 carries and is averaging almost 8.5 yards per carry.
