Report: Miami, Harbaugh talk

Posted by Chris Brown on January 4, 2011 – 10:52 am

NFL Network reporter Jason LaCanfora is reporting that the Dolphins and Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh had talks this past week with Harbaugh and his college team in Florida this past week for their bowl game.

Here’s LaCanfora’s most recent comment on his report via his twitter account.

Jason LaCanfora Dolphins have had contact with Jim Harbaugh, who was in Florida last week for Orange Bowl. Continue to hear this could happen. More ahead

The interesting situation concerning the Dolphins is they still have a head coach in Tony Sparano, though that’s considered to be a tenuous situation at best right now. The San Francisco 49ers have also been reported to be interested in Harbaugh as a head coaching candidate. It’s believed that if Harbaugh does leave Stanford it could change QB Andrew Luck’s leanings, which right now are to return to Stanford for his senior season.

Report: Harbaugh out

Posted by Chris Brown on January 16, 2010 – 8:18 pm

CBS Football analyst Charley Casserly reported on the NFL Today Saturday evening that Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh was a prime target of the Buffalo Bills for their head coaching position.

According to Casserly, not only was Harbaugh interviewed, but was offered the head coaching job. Casserly reports that Harbaugh turned it down, choosing to stay at Stanford.

It’s unclear if the heat of the college recruiting season influenced this reported decision by Harbaugh. Either way it appears a quality candidate is out of the mix.

Report: Harbaugh in the mix?

Posted by Chris Brown on January 7, 2010 – 3:37 pm

It’s been speculated that Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh could be in the mix for the Bills head coaching job after a very successful season for the Cardinal this past fall. That speculation has now been fueled all the more.

Pro Football Talk is reporting that Harbaugh is a “stealth” candidate for the job. The reason why the word “stealth” is being used is because college coaches don’t want it to leak that they’re candidates for any kind of pro job knowing it can negatively affect recruiting. Nevertheless it’s out there now.

At this point it’s up to Harbaugh to confirm or deny the rumor and speculation. The report also says he’s in the mix for the Raiders head coaching job, though current Raiders head coach Tom Cable is still employed at this point.
