Packers RB Eddie Lacy (hip) was limited in practice for much of the week, but he’s listed as probable. It’s possible that Lacy will share more of the load with fellow RB and UB product James Starks knowing his hip ailment has been a persistent one, but it appears he’ll be ready for Sunday’s game. Here is the rest of the Green Bay injury report from Friday.

OUT
CB Davon House – shoulder
LB Jamari Lattimore – ankle

PROBABLE
DT Bruce Gaston – illness
RB Eddie Lacy – hip
G T.J. Lang – ankle
G Josh Sitton – toe
LB Nick Perry – shoulder

Matthews, Woodson probable

Posted by Chris Brown on September 17, 2010 – 2:07 pm

It looks like the Packers will have the services of two of their impact defenders on Sunday against the Bills.

OLB Clay Matthews and CB Charles Woodson are both listed as probable for this weekend’s game. Matthews was limited in practice throughout the week as he’s still nursing a hamstring issue that forced him to miss the entire preseason. Woodson did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday to rest an ailing toe, but practiced fully on Friday and is expected to start.

Green Bay’s defensive line however, is short on bodies. Already without Johnny Jolly (suspension) and Justin Harrell (torn ACL week 1) they may also be without reserve DE Mike Neal (ques. – rib) after he could not practice Friday following a limited participation day Thursday. Starting DE Cullen Jenkins is also dealing with a broken hand, but practiced on a limited basis all week and is listed as probable.

Added to the Packers injury report Friday was starting LG Daryn Colledge who did not practice due to illness. He’s listed as questionable. Also questionable is starting FB Korey Hall, who did not practice Friday due to a hip injury. If he can’t go it would leave Green Bay with just three players for their offensive backfield that know the playbook in Brandon Jackson, John Kuhn and Quinn Johnson. The team just signed Dimitri Nance off the Atlanta practice squad on Tuesday.

Starting LT Chad Clifton (knee) is listed as probable after practicing fully on Friday.

Matthews limited, Woodson sits

Posted by Chris Brown on September 15, 2010 – 4:26 pm

Two of Green Bay’s key defenders could not practice fully on Wednesday.

OLB Clay Matthews, who dominated with 3 sacks in Green Bay’s opening week win at Philly, was limited in practice due to a hamstring injury.

Suffice to say he’s a guy that already has Chan Gailey’s attention.

“He is an excellent pass rusher,” said Gailey. “He’s an excellent football player. You’ve got to have a plan for him because he’s good enough to warrant that. So we’ll try to make sure that we have people around him and have people sliding to him or people around him to help us a little bit from time to time. Maybe not every snap, but from time to time.”

Also limited were starting LT Chad Clifton (knee) starting DE Cullen Jenkins (hand) and reserve CB Brandon Underwood (shoulder).

If Matthews is still limited on Thursday, he might not prove to be as dominant and dangerous a threat as he looked in Week 1, and he looked good.

Pro Bowl CB Charles Woodson, who tied Bills FS Jairus Byrd for the league lead in INTs last season with nine did not practice at all Wednesday due to a toe injury. If he can’t go on Sunday that’s a huge bonus to Buffalo’s passing game because the Packers are already without Al Harris.

Reserve LB Desmond Bishop (hamstring) also did not practice along with rookie DE Mike Neal (rib).
