Any power outage anecdotes?

Posted by Chris Brown on October 20, 2008 – 2:10 pm

I’ve got to say for the circumstances that the fans were faced with Sunday with the power outage you guys did a heck of a job. Whether it was getting the ‘Shout’ song going minus the actual song because the power was down or cheering when you heard the Windows software tune powering the scoreboard back up.

If you’ve got any anecdotes you’d like to share, just e-mail me at AskChris@bills.nfl.net and I’ll see if I can’t put some of the better experiences from a throwback kind of NFL experience together.

I understand the situation wasn’t all rosy Sunday, but like Western New Yorkers usually do, they made the best of it and the Bills success certainly helped.

Lindell misses 52 yarder; power back on

Posted by Chris Brown on October 19, 2008 – 5:57 pm

Rian Lindell missed a 52-yard attempt so it’s still 7-3 Chargers early in the 2nd quarter (10:49). Jason Peters returned to the lineup before the end of the drive.

Power is back on at the stadium so the broadcasta should be good to go from here on out.

Game back on

Posted by Chris Brown on October 19, 2008 – 5:27 pm

The game has resumed as the delay may take longer, 10-15 minutes before power is restored for good. We’ll try to keep you posted at this point.

Bills offense is driving. Lee Evans already has three catches on the drive. They’re inside the Chargers 25-yard line and there’s no score.

The Bills game has been delayed by a second power outage. This one was done on purpose. It’s being done to once and for all rectify the power issue. The game has been stopped so you’re not missing anything out there folks.

Sit tight and we’ll let you know when things are back up and running. They said the outage delay should only be about 5 minutes.

Power back on

Posted by Chris Brown on October 19, 2008 – 4:52 pm

There was a power outage at One Bills Drive at approximately 12:32pm where the electricity went out in the stadium, the Bills Fieldhouse and just about everywhere else on the premises. It initially threatened the start time for the game, but power was restored at 12:46pm and it appears that problem was averted.

The reason a power outage would have delayed the game is because fans need to get their tickets scanned to get in. As a result the fans are backed up a mile outside the stadium waiting for entry.

In addition the CBS network trucks with no power may not be equipped to broadcast the game. Just be ready for anything out there because there has been a hiccup or two with the power going off and back on.
