Moss weighs in on Stevie

Posted by Chris Brown on December 2, 2011 – 7:28 am

Apparently four days after the fact people are still giving their opinion of what they thought of Stevie Johnson end zone celebration against the Jets. Washington WR Santana Moss was the latest to weigh in.

Moss was asked on PFT Live for his thoughts on Johnson’s celebration.

“Some guys, that’s a part of their game,” Moss said of Johnson on Thursday’s PFT Live. “They look forward to those moments where they can really shine after they make a big play or score a big touchdown. You can’t really knock them for it. The only thing you can knock them for is losing those yards for your team. You’ve got to be smart at all given times when it comes to trying to win a game. You can’t hurt your team in that situation, and I think that’s something that he’ll look back on and wish he hadn’t done.”

Report: Skins Moss out 3 wks

Posted by Chris Brown on October 24, 2011 – 2:08 pm

The reports continue regarding the fractured hand sustained by Redskins WR Santana Moss.

According to ProFootballTalk, Moss will miss three weeks and undergo surgery for his broken hand suffered in the Washington loss to Carolina Sunday.

Without Moss Washington loses their top big play threat in the passing game. Buffalo had been vulnerable to big plays in the passing game giving up the fourth most pass plays of 25 yards or more in the league (14).

Skins are beat up

Posted by Chris Brown on October 24, 2011 – 9:54 am

The Bills needed a bye week to heal up and even with it won’t be completely healthy heading into Sunday’s game with Washington in Toronto. Neither will the Redskins after their loss Sunday to Carolina.

Washington has reportedly lost WR Santana Moss for 3-4 weeks with a fractured hand suffered in Sunday’s game. Starting RB Tim Hightower has reportedly sustained a torn ACL and if that’s confirmed he’ll be out for the season. He’s undergoing an MRI this morning for confirmation of the injury.

Washington MLB London Fletcher also suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of Sunday’s game and his status is up in the air. The Redskins lost TE Chris Cooley two weeks ago, though TE Fred Davis has played well for Washington.

With Hightower out the Redskins would presumably start Ryan Torain at running back this week against the Bills.

Interesting take on PEDs

Posted by Chris Brown on May 20, 2010 – 10:00 am

With reports now surfacing that Redskins WR Santana Moss had an association with Canadian Dr. Anthony Galea, who was accused of drug smuggling and illegal distribution of HGH among other things, PEDs in general are getting much more attention in the D.C. area. But one columnist provided some very compelling insight to the issue of some of these “treatments” that might not be as black and white as they’re made out to be.

Washington Post columnist Sally Jenkins, who has been covering sports for 25 years, really asks some worthwhile questions and doesn’t just lump all of these avenues that pro athletes pursue medically as all the same thing. Suffice to say it made me think about where this stuff is all headed, especially if PRPs are more treatment than cheating.
